Parking along the sidewalk and hindering the main roads may not coming to an end anytime soon. Small roads in Beung Keng Koung 2 and around schools areas are still clogged by big cars along the sides of the roads.

There have been many measures of the Phnom Penh municipal in removing the cars parking unreasonably along the sidewalk. However, it has been a retrospective intervention by the government and the district governors on car park along the sidewalks in Phnom Penh especially the main Blvd.

Since 2010, the government started collect parking fee from the main streets. In 2012, Phnom Penh capital authority took a measure to interdict business shop owners from doing the business and vehicle parking on both sides of the sidewalk of the boulevards. However, this measure did not last long until today, there are still disordered vehicle parking along the boulevard for other boulevards. However, until now most of the small streets and other main streets in Phnom Penh especially the area around ministry, schools and markets are packed and busted by many cars parking on the sidewalk even on the main street.
Traffic jams usually happened in Phnom Penh because of cars parking on the sidewalk and the main streets. A new developed Phnom Penh city does need more public and private parking spaces and equal implementation of parking procedure for every sort of vehicles on the most traffic streets.

Resolving unorganized parking in the city will solve a big fractions of traffic jams in Phnom Penh. The city also needs to offer more friendly space for pedestrians who helplessly walked on the street to avoid the cars parking on the pavement.
