Reckless driving and minimal ambulance service

More than one person dies every day, year round, in Phnom Penh’s traffic. This person is very likely to be a male motorbike rider, who will die from severe head injury because he didn’t wear a helmet.

The chances of surviving or getting away from a traffic accident without permanent injury is very low if it happens in Cambodia, because the Ambulance service is almost non-existent. And if you call the public emergency telephone numbers, they sometimes go unanswered.

You should always look out for each other in traffic and drive responsibly! And until the Ambulance service gets better: If you witness an accident on the road; help the victims all you can. One day, you might be the one who needs their help!
