Pregnant workers who are members of the National Social Security Fund are eligible for free maternity care in all hospitals and health centres, according to the director of the programme.
Ouk Samvithya yesterday made the announcement, to assure workers they can claim free care, even in cases where their local health facility has not signed an agreement with the NSSF. “NSSF members that deliver a baby in a hospital which does not have an agreement with the fund, can still demand the daily bonus for maternity leave,” he said.

The NSSF has agreements with more than 1,200 local health centres for workers to get free 24-hour health care.
