Due to their unpredictability, blackouts in Phnom Penh can result in extensive socio-economic costs and inconveniences for residents. Without power, many residents face negative impacts with their work, livelihoods, and living conditions.

Last year, Urban Voice ran the campaign “Report about Blackouts” and we received 10 reports about blackouts in Phnom that were reported by residents in different areas. This year, Urban Voice has decided to repeat this campaign from April 1st, 2015 to June 30th, 2015 after noting that blackouts and their consequences are a major concern for Phnom Penh residents especially those in urban poor communities.
