Flooding Campaign Final Map Came Out! From the beginning of the campaign running until ended (August to October 2013), Urban Voice has received 119 reports about flood in Phnom Penh area.
If you look at the map to see the flooding report on our website, you will noticeably see that virtually entire of Phnom Penh areas are flooded during rainy season. Some locations were flooded for several days while other places have flooded for over one week. This caused and affected to traffic congestion for the people’s traveling in Phnom Penh.
Based on the map of Urban Voice website, it shows that the areas got serious flood areas in Phnom Penh are in Khan Chamkarmon, Prampi Makara, Toul Kork, Daun Penh and Sen Sok. The serious flood areas were markedly in Kandal Market (Khan Daun Penh, Kampuceha Krom Street (Khan Tuol Kork), Maida Street (Khan Sen Sok), and streets in Tuol Tumpoung and Sangkat Tumnop Teuk areas (Khan Chamkarmon).
During the campaign, Urban Voice also produced a short premium video about flood issue in Phnom Penh, titled “AFTER FLOOD IN PHNOM PENH”. The video mainly shows the concerns, issues and other challenges, facing by Phnom Penh’s residents during flood.
