On Saturday 20th December 2014, Urban Voice, a project of Sahmakum Teang Tnout, conducted a social media training course on how to use Internet and E-mail to 32 community youths and students.
The training started from 7:30 am to 5 pam. The training course will be held for 4 days. It has been starting from 20, 21, 27, 28 December 2014. The objectives of the training were:
- to introduce youth and community people, particularly community activists how to use internet, to use email, to know how to use keywords & search terms to search for information in appropriate ways.
- to utilize their knowledge and skills gained for different purposes such as communications within community members and colleagues, sharing information with friends and relatives within the community, exploring things on the internet and reading news online.
- to introduce youths and community activists to know and understand how to effectively use Facebook for community advocacy in which they can use that knowledge for sharing and disseminating information about their communities’ issues and concerns with the public, government and the world.
- to introduce community activists to know how to create and use blog. Knowing how to use blog is the best way for community activists to advocate and share their problems and concerns to the public as well as the world.
In the first day of training, the participants have shown their appreciation of training and enthusiasm in learning each topic attentively.
